portisheadSONG OF THE DAY

“Glory Box” by Portishead (Dummy, Go! Discs, 1995). Written by Geoff Barrow, Beth Gibbons, and Adrian Utley. The song samples “Ike’s Rap II” by Isaac Hayes.

MY TAKE

This song reminds me of my college days and frequent listenings to the Supreme Beings of Leisure (a.k.a. “the good ol’ days”). I like Portishead, but haven’t dedicated myself to getting into them, though they’ve been on my list since 2005 and my yahoo.com streaming radio days. 2010, you’re a good year for a lot of things, as it turns out! A special thank you to Criminal Minds for putting this song into my consciousness again. I love television for music’s sake.
