May 2010 Playlist

Antonio Carlos JobimI try to have a playlist every month of news songs I’ve been exposed to/ got­ten hooked on/ obsessed a lit­tle bit about. This summer’s been a LITTLE busy, what with get­ting mar­ried and all, so the actual for­ma­tion of fin­ished playlists was slow to come to fruition, but I have con­tin­ued to be intro­duced to new music through­out the pass­ing weeks. Now that I’ve had some time to gather my thoughts, look through my book­marks, and assess my pile of post-its, I’m ready to share with you today and over the next few days the playlists that devel­oped in May, June and July, of 2010 respectively.

May 2010 is a lit­tle bit love themed because at this point I was still very actively research­ing wed­ding things on all sorts of wed­ding plan­ning web­sites. There was a point when I wanted to know about love songs I hadn’t heard before, and I got a lot of great sug­ges­tions and leads to new songs and even new artists. Even­tu­ally, I fell back on that plan and decided to stick with what I know and use the songs that have car­ried me through my life to this point, rather than adapt new songs for the big day. But how could I let go of all of these incred­i­ble rec­om­men­da­tions? Wel­come to the May 2010 playlist, all songs I heard for the first time, all songs I am now try­ing to spread the gospel about. Many of these songs deserve their own ded­i­cated song of the day, so don’t be sur­prised if they pop up again on this blog. For now, enjoy the playlist!
